Getting Healthy!!

ARGH!!!

I am getting so frustrated! When mom was here I weighed myself on Thursday. I weighed in at 188.8 pounds. I was really happy! We then worked out for an hour. 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of light weights and ab exercises. Friday we did a yoga/pilates class, and then we went to the zoo where we walked around for 3 hours. Saturday we went to the Peabody and a museum. More walking around. I worked out on monday (light cardio) and then weighed in on Tuesday and was very sad to see that I weighed 192.4 pounds. What the heck is going on!!

On top of that, I have to get very creative with working out. The gym is re-modeling the family room starting today and it won't re-open until the 4th. So I can't go to the gym. Sucky!

I Love to Dance!!

I had so much fun putting together this playlist! (Top of the page...my "muzak!"). I've been dancing on and off all night. And of course I am keeping track of my aerobic minutes! I dance until my side hurts, then I do some free weights and then I dance some more. Now, I ain't saying that I'm dancing all that great...but I am having so much fun!! For now Brian is working 12's (there is an exercise going on) so he has to be at work at 7pm. Which works out great for me. I can dance after the kids go to bed and no one can see me and tease me! Although, the kids like to dance, too. I should make them a dance playlist, too.

I'm a Bum

After all the grief I gave Jennifer about never updating her blog, here I am. It's been two months since I posted anything! Shameful!

Anyway, I was really bad about not going to the gym or working out and eating like crap. So I have had to tweak my goals and such. That's why the tracker has changed.

Anyway, I am going with my starting weight of 192.5 since that is what I weighed when I went back to the gym. I'm going to track my total weight loss and my mini-goals of losing 10 pounds at a time until I reach my goal. Everytime I lose 10 pounds, I get $20 to spend on new clothes at the thrift store.

I made it to the gym the 2nd, the 8th and the 9th so far. Not a bad start. I do cardio and free weights. My thighs and buns are a little sore today from all the squats and lunges. But it's a good kind of burn.

Yummy!

I have a horrible sweet tooth. I try not to have sweet stuff in the house or I just eat it all up. Grandma showed me a yummy treat though that isn't all that bad for you, but satisfies my sweet craving.

I've modified it just to use fat-free cool whip.

Diced Apples (I really like using the Braebrun apples. They have a good crunch to them, but they are a sweet apple)
Mini Marshmallows (which are fat free!!)
Fat Free Cool Whip

I use a whole apple and a handfull of marshmallows. Just use enough cool whip to coat. Keep it nice and cold in the fridge.

Another variation that I tried today that turned out really good....pears! Wal-Mart had a good price on pears so with a whole apple I also added half a pear (the other half the kids ate with their lunch).

YUMMY!!!!

Check me out!

I really like Jennifer's idea of posting a "fat girl blog". This way everyone can see just how well (or not so well) that I am doing. It also keeps me honest about my weight loss.

I am starting from my pre-pregnancy weight of 200 pounds. I gained 17 pounds at the time Paisley was born so I think that I am just red-hot right now!! It helps that since family was here we weren't eating fast food 4-5 times a week. If I keep that up that pounds should really start to come off.

The 190 pounds was what the scale at the gym read today. Yes, to everyone that I know is going to ask, I am taking it easy. I walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes and a low speed (2.5). I'll keep that up until I see Dr. Wood (my OB) on the 20th. As soon as he gives me the go ahead then I'll start revving up the work outs.

Tuesdays, for now, are the best day to weigh myself. It's early enough in the week so that I remember to take it easy over the weekend and Lorelei doesn't have therapy that day so for now that is going to be my "weigh day".
